Description

Max Power Suntronic PV 5000 Pro – 4kW Inverter with 5000W Solar Input

Max Power Suntronic PV 5000 Pro is rated for 4,000W continuous AC output and supports up to 5,000W solar PV input. These two ratings serve different purposes. The output rating describes the appliances you can run together, while PV input power describes the permitted installed solar-array wattage. It is a 24V-battery solar inverter from Max Power’s Suntronic range.

Verified technical specifications

Solar panels Q&A – 585W and 645W examples

How many 585W panels are supported?

Eight 585W panels total 4,680W, staying below the published 5,000W PV input-power limit. Nine such panels total 5,265W and exceed that nameplate PV power figure. Eight is a power-only calculation, not permission to wire eight panels in series. Check each panel’s Voc and Vmp, especially expected cold-temperature Voc, and confirm its string configuration fits the 60–450V MPPT window and stays under the 500V absolute PV voltage limit.

What if I use 645W panels?

Seven 645W panels total 4,515W, while eight total 5,160W. Therefore seven is the most panels within the published 5,000W ceiling by simple wattage arithmetic. The correct electrical grouping may require fewer modules per string; do not assume seven panels in one series string is safe without the module electrical data and a cold-weather voltage calculation.

Can any 585W panel be installed with this inverter?

Not automatically. Panels with the same wattage can have different Vmp, Voc, Imp and Isc values. The manufacturer publishes an MPPT voltage range, a maximum voltage and input power, but the number of parallel strings must also be evaluated against the inverter’s permitted PV input current. Ask the installer to check actual panel datasheets, not only advertised watts.

Does a 5kW PV array mean 5kW appliances can run?

No. The inverter’s rated AC output is 4kW. The solar array can charge batteries or provide useful energy, subject to operating mode and solar conditions, but does not raise the continuous AC output above the inverter rating.

24V battery setup and charging

The Suntronic PV 5000 Pro uses a nominal 24V battery system. Two identical 12V batteries may form a 24V series bank when the manufacturer approves their chemistry, age, capacity, and cabling. Lithium batteries require matching BMS limits and compatible charging settings. The inverter’s 120A maximum solar-charge specification does not mean every battery should be charged at 120A. Set charge current according to the battery manufacturer and cable/protection design.

What can this inverter run in a home?

Prepare a realistic load list with lights, fans, refrigerator, television, computers and any pump or air conditioner. Add simultaneous running watts and allow for startup current from compressors and motors. Whether a specific air-conditioner will run depends on its power demand, startup behaviour and other operating loads. A licensed electrician should plan breakers, earth connection, DC disconnects, DC cable size, ventilation and a safe battery installation.
